The spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Aybek Smadiyarov, specified in statements to the press that this is the eighteenth cycle of exchanges, and will take place between June 14th to 16th.
He also said that they are awaiting confirmation from the parties involved, after sending the invitations to the three guarantor countries.
The previous round of dialogue of the Astana format, as the platform is known, was held on December 21st and 22nd last year, in the capital of Kazakhstan.
At that meeting, the special envoy of the Russian president for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, stated that after 11 years of fighting, Syria’s socioeconomic recovery will cost approximately between 600 and 800 billion dollars.
At the end of the previous round, the participants reiterated the need to eliminate obstacles and increase humanitarian assistance to Syrians throughout the country without discrimination, politicization or preconditions.
Representatives of the Astana format also condemned and called for an end to Israeli aggression, which threatens the stability and security of the region and violates international law, the sovereignty of Syria and neighboring nations.
