During a meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, the president stressed that such an agreement “would impose a new reality and open wide horizons to build peace and bridges of trust, cooperation and development” in the region, the Presidency stated.

According to a communique, Sullivan praised Egypt’s efforts to establish peace in the area, as well as the funds provided to rebuild the Gaza Strip after the Israeli attacks occurred last year.

During Wednesday’s meeting, the two sides discussed several issues of the bilateral relations, the text stated.

El-Sisi received the new head of the US Central Command, General Michael Corella, on Monday.
