During a telephone conversation, the Egyptian president congratulated his counterpart on his recent re-election for a second five-year presidential term and stressed the importance for Cairo of cooperation with Paris in all sectors, Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a communique.
El-Sisi estimated that this would help preserve security and stability in the Middle East, the Mediterranean basin and Africa.
Macron also advocated for enhancing the bilateral ties and increasing consultations on several regional and international issues.
France is committed to strengthening cooperation with Egypt in several fields and supporting the Government’s efforts to progress in the sustainable development, the French head of State assured, according to Rady.
This is the second telephone conversation between the two presidents since Macron won re-election on April 24.
