URCA condemns US blockade against Cuba

Buenos Aires, Apr 24 (Prensa Latina) The Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina (URCA, in Spanish) on Sunday condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than 60 years.

Through a statement, URCA joined Bridges of Love project´s initiative, led by Cuban-American professor Carlos Lazo, in order to call for the end of the US blockade.

In the text, URCA considered such a blockade is a US act of war in times of peace, while criticizing the extraterritorial nature of the blockade, which includes imposing sanctions on entities, companies and shipping companies interested in trading with Cuba.

URCA also called for the tightening of aggression against Cuba under the former President Donald Trump administration (2017-2021), implementing 243 additional measures, which are currently kept unchanged by Joe Biden´s.

Plus, URCA strongly condemned the increased actions on Cuba amid most difficult moments of crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
