Commenting on this issue, Eduardo Piñate, Governor of Apure, reiterated the need to join efforts to combat cattle rustling, as it considerably affects the economic activity of private producers and productive units of the State.
Apure is the third largest meat-producing state in the country, along with the production of milk, cheese, corn and other agricultural products; however, it is also one of the most affected states by cattle rustling, as it is the target of the actions by Colombian paramilitary groups and other criminal elements from the neighboring nation.
