“We are heading to new prosperity, new stage of well-being, to the Bolivarian Socialism”, the Venezuelan leader said at a popular mass meeting to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the civil-military insurrection that restored the constitutional thread after the April 11, 2002 coup.

Nicolás Maduro stressed his government will raise efforts to recover all schools, high schools (middle and high school) and colleges in the country, in addition to working on strengthening the ¨Barrio Adentro¨ medical mission.

Mr. Maduro added that local authorities are rolling out actions to sustainably recover workers’ wages and keep inflation under control, and also announced a special plan to recover Venezuelan retirees and pensioners´ purchasing power.

The Venezuelan president called on his people to believe in the national effort and work to open the doors to economic prosperity and the top social happiness of the South American nation.

Likewise, Maduro harped on the significance of fighting off bureaucracy and corruption that have plagued important state-owned institutions.

“Venezuela really needs big switches. A real revolution is one that has the ability to see itself from inside, revolutionize itself, change itself and adapt to the times in speeches, politics and in action”, Maduro emphasized.
