As part of a global media marathon against that hostile policy, the writer and member of the Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity Stella Calloni expressed her solidarity with Cuba and condemned Washington’s attacks.
“The blockade violates human rights and international law. In reality, it is a siege that punishes a brother nation that stands out for its solidarity with all the countries of the world,” Calloni stated.
She also urged that the United States comply with the demands of numerous countries in the United Nations General Assembly and put an end to “the suffering imposed on a nation that has heroically resisted for so many years.”
For his part, Leonardo Del Grosso, of the Argentinean Club of Journalists Friends of Cuba, described the US policy as “genocidal” and demanded its immediate cessation.
Manuel Da Luz, director of the “A Vos Patria” radio program; Gustavo Daniel Pescetta, from the International Council of Popular Communication Mercosur Chapter; and Gustavo Veiga, from Página 12 newspaper, also voiced their condemnation of the US blockade.
In addition, the director of the dataurgente.com news website, Sebastian Salgado, expressed his repudiation “of the criminal siege that the United States has imposed on the Cuban people for years.”
