The Jerusalem Post newspaper stated that the arrests began last night in various locations throughout Israel.
Given the tensions, several leaders of the community, which accounts for nearly 20 percent of the country’s population (some of 1.9 million people), called for not criminalizing all Arabs.
Legislator Ahmed Tibi spoke to Army Radio condemning the two attacks, which were carried out by three suspected members of the Islamic State (Daesh, for its acronym in Arabic).
Said actions are rejected by Muslims, said Tibi, who is a member of an alliance of Arab and leftist parties.
Two attacks occurred in Israel in less than a week, prompting criticism for the Police and the Government.
In response, the Police deployed additional units in various key points such as highways and crowded areas, while the Army announced that it had sent four battalions to protect Jewish settlers living in the occupied West Bank.
