Government visit to Cuba’s central province winds up on Friday

Santa Clara, Cuba, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) The fourth governmental visit to the central Cuban province of Villa Clara will conclude this Friday with the report by ministers and government representatives, who assessed the productive and service work.

The first two days of the visit were headed by Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes Mesa and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, who toured the strategic manufacturing, tourist and social sites and exchanged with the population.

On Thursday, the Cuban vice president visited the northern Villa Clara municipalities of Corralillo, Quemado de Güines and Sagua la Grande, and talked with the workers of the Quintin Banderas sugar mill, the Lutgardita banana farm and the Macun livestock company.

Valdes Mesa, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, listened to the workers’ proposals in their efforts to increase production and urged them to use science, technology and innovations and fill the vacant land with crops.

For his part, Marrero held a meeting with the directors and employees of the hotels that links the Ensenachos, Las Brujas and Santa Maria resorts.

Marrero praised Villa Clara’s tourist development and urged them to improve their work with domestic and foreign tourists and to reach new agreements with Cuban producers for the purchase of meat, root vegetables, fruits and vegetables.

In turn, Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo visited several educational institutions in the province and talked with teachers and students on the life and the internal functioning of those centers.

Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia visited the Vista Hermosa gastronomic complex in Santa Clara, where he talked with workers and managers and was interested in the wages they receive there.
