We also give a relevant role to international cooperation ahead of this global scourge, Ms. Díaz told Prensa Latina News Agency, while she continued her working agenda in Europe.
Last week, Ms. Díaz participated in the general debate of the 65th Commission on Narcotic Drugs, in Vienna, Austria. It´s a forum in which she reaffirmed Cuba´s commitment to a world free of illegal drugs, a scenario she considered as pivotal to reach a sustainable development and peoples´ peace.
Regarding collaboration, Israel Ybarra, director of the International relations at the Justice Ministry (MINJUST, in Spanish), said Cuba has signed 44 intergovernmental agreements, which cover provision of evidence and elements for researches, among other areas of cooperation.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Mr. Ybarra considered the preventive, multilateral and interdisciplinary approach as a strength, while explaining the drug scourge in Cuba is not a serious issue or one of worrying dimensions for society.
