The police raid, called Victoria 17, made it possible to block a heavy-duty truck on the Highway carrying cocaine stashed away in a container while it was moving to port.
According to details by Colonel Víctor Zarate, Zone 8 Police Commander, Belgium was the final destination for the drug, being manabí province the starting point.
The seized cocaine was stored in rectangular-shaped packages, kept in 75 jute bags camouflaged among export wood.
As a result of the raid, only one person was busted, while other individuals who were escorting the truck in two light vehicles managed to get away.
