Media and social media focus Patria International Colloquium in Cuba

Havana, Mar 15 (Prensa Latina) Social media and the battle for truth focus the debate of the Patria International Colloquium, which concludes this Tuesday in Cuba, with influencers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, Lebanon and the United States.

Hosted at Casa de las Americas, the event advocates for the construction of effective digital platforms to defend the worthy causes in Latin America and globally, while gaining relevance in the context of the Day of Cuban Press.

Under the hashtag #HacemosPatria, the event takes up the legacy by National Hero Jose Marti, after 130 years of the founding of Patria, the official newspaper of the Cuban Revolutionary Party led by the independence hero, whose historical legacy is recognized by more than 100 invited communicators.

They have a lot of strength and make us transcend through time. I see Marti with us, Wafy Ibrahim, Al Mayadeen advisor for Latin America, said during the first day of the Colloquium sponsored by Casa de las Americas, Resumen Latinoamericano magazine and the Association of Cuban Journalists (UPEC).

The event, which is broadcast via the main online platforms of such institutions, allows the analysis of the machinery of manipulation of opinions and the awareness implemented by the hegemonic media and social media.
