Seychelles Home Affairs Minister Errol Fonseka and Cuban Ambassador Martha Hernandez penned the document, which will remain in force for the next three years.
The memorandum establishes the basis for the exchange of experiences, information and best practices in matters related to disaster risk management in such fields as meteorology, hydrology, agro-meteorology, seismology and forest fires, as well as human, plant and animal health.
Fonseka stressed the importance of this cooperation that will help his country, a small island state, to be better prepared in advance to face the vulnerabilities and adversities caused by the effects of climate change.
He said that he considers Cuba an example in the fields of education, health care, agriculture, and disaster risk reduction and management.
For her part, the Cuban ambassador referred to the long-standing relations of cooperation between the two nations.
Hernandez expressed her gratitude for the support of Seychelles in international organizations to demand that the United States put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
