According to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 8,023 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 5,393 of whom are suspected cases, 62 are under epidemiological surveillance and 2,568 are active cases.
Of the active cases, 577 were contacts of confirmed patients, 27 were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not possible to identify in five cases.
At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that 627 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the total number of recovered people is 1,057,636 (accounting for 99 percent of all cases).
A total of 2,568 patients were admitted in hospitals or at home, 2,538 of them are clinically stable, while 30 are being treated in intensive care units: nine are in a critical condition and 21 are seriously ill.
With these statistics, Cuba has accumulated 1,068,757 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020.
The death toll remains at 8,494, MINSAP reported.
