De Almeida, who is also the co-president of the Cuba-Angola Intergovernmental Commission, will have an agenda in Havana that will allow strengthening working ties, 47 years after diplomatic relations between both countries were established on November 15.

The ties of brotherhood and mutual respect between Cuba and Angola have a historic nature, forged in the 1970s when Cuban and African blood got mixed during the struggle against colonialism and apartheid in that region.

The legacy from leaders Agostinho Neto and Fidel Castro also remains in the commitment to maintain and strengthen political and bilateral relations, which are currently developed at the highest level.

At present, both countries maintain cooperation in several sectors for the benefit of their peoples and nations.
