Ethiopia, Slovenia enhance cooperation in education and agriculture

Addis Ababa, Feb 18 (Prensa Latina) The Governments of Ethiopia and Slovenia have agreed to enhance and diversify collaboration mainly in the education and agriculture sectors, during the 6th European Union-African Union (EU-AU) Summit that concludes in Brussels, Belgium, this Friday.

The Government spokesperson Selamawit Kassa summarized in this way the meeting held on the sidelines of the conclave by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his Slovenian counterpart Janez Jansa, who also agreed to work to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ahmed and Jansa also discussed the ways of enhancing partnership and cooperation in other important economic activities, said Kassa, whose statement was broadcast here at the end of the first day of the Summit.

The EU-AU Summit kicked off on Thursday in the Belgian capital is causing great expectation here, where Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ahmed aspires to reform his ties with Europe amid the current global dynamics.

Thousands of Ethiopians are hoping that the meeting is an opportune moment so that the prime minister can expose the reasons of the conflict between the government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), which is ongoing since November 2020.
