ALBA expresses condolences for death of Bolivian ambassador to Cuba

Caracas, Feb 14 (Prensa Latina) ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary Sacha Llorenti on Monday expressed his condolences for the death of Bolivian Ambassador to Cuba Eduardo Pardo.

In a message on Twitter, the head of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples Trade Treaty mourned the death of the Bolivian diplomat and expressed his condolences to his family, and the Bolivian Government and people.

Pardo died on Sunday due to health problems in Havana, at the age of 68, the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

“After fighting for weeks to regain stability in his health, the ambassador passed away in Havana on Sunday, February 13,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The departure of a brilliant economist and academic committed to just causes hurts a lot. Our condolences to his family,” Bolivian President Luis Arce stated.

For his part, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel responded to his Bolivian counterpart, “I share your sorrow, brother, and that of the family, friends and colleagues of Ambassador Eduardo Pardo, who was fulfilling the worthy mission of representing Bolivia in Cuba.”
