The report stated that 14,809 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 9,329 of whom are suspected cases, 112 are under epidemiological surveillance and 5,368 are active cases (148 fewer than those reported on Thursday).
At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that 1,291 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease (42 more than on the previous day), so the number of recovered patients rose to 1,045,059 (98.7 percent of all cases).
MINSAP added that 46 people are being treated in intensive care units: 20 are in a critical condition and 26 are seriously ill.
The provinces with the highest Covid-19 incidence are Matanzas with 165 cases, followed by Sancti Spiritus with 158, Holguin with 152 and Ciego de Avila with 128.
So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,058,946 contagions and 8,460 deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country on March 11, 2020.
