The communiqué was published after a meeting of the Council of Ministers during which the purchase of modern military equipment and the recruitment of forces to guarantee security on the country’s northern border were announced.
The first attack occurred on Tuesday in the north of the W National Park, when a patrol of park rangers and a trainer were searching for poachers and detonated two improvised explosive devices.
The second incident occurred in the same park on Thursday.
The communiqué refrains from mentioning those responsible for the attacks, but all indications point to Islamist armed groups that are trying to establish themselves in West African countries.
