According to Eduardo Torres Cuevas, director of the Marti Program Office, the activities will last until January 28, 2023, and they will allow the world to know more and more what the thinker means for Cuba and Latin America.
This movement intends to affirm national and internationally the idea of good, unity, dialogue, rejection to hatred, and it will support the objectives of setting up a world society based on love and plurality, said Torres Cuevas, who is also the president of the Jose Marti Cultural Society.
Hector Hernandez, general deputy director of the Marti Program Office, stated that the day for the anniversary of the universal thinker will end with the 5th International Conference on World Equilibrium, scheduled for January 24 to 28, 2023.
The main event to commemorate the anniversary will take place this Friday at the Jose Marti Memorial in Havana.
The traditional March of the Torches that takes place every year in remembrance of the hero from the steps of the University of Havana to the Forge of Marti,” a place where the Apostle was imprisoned for his libertarian ideas against the Spanish colonial rule when he was a teenager, was held last night.
