Addressing a virtual meeting of the African Union, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that his country is ready to support other nations in the region in anti-terrorism training.
He also expressed support for the UN-led peacekeeping missions.
In late 2021, the Egyptian Government agreed on the need to continue fighting the Islamic State terrorist group, which it considered a serious threat to Africa’s security and stability.
Mohamed Fouad, director of the international counter-terrorism unit at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made that statement at a meeting on the issue in Brussels, Belgium.
