According to the Cuban Embassy in Japan, the cargo left from the Yokohama port and includes thousands of needles, syringes, facemasks, gowns, rechargeable lamps and gloves, and its value exceeds eight million yen (81.322 dollars).
“The donations come from Cuban residents in Japan, the Scientific Exchange Committee of the Japan-Cuba Scientific-Technical Exchange Committee, the Japan Federation of Democratic Medical Institutions (MIN-IREN) in Tokyo, Saitama and Fukuoka prefectures, Taichi Holdings Limited and other friends,” the Embassy stated.
It added that the container is expected to arrive in Cuba on March 22.
The solidarity with Cuba in Japan remains active from different sectors and in the last few months, it bore fruit in the contribution of equipment and health supplies to support it in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
