He explained that criminals, terrorist shock groups and disinformation methods were competently used in the actions, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

Karin denied that what happened in the country was an attempt at a color revolution. In his opinion, such a scenario would be ineffective because the circumstances are different and the position of the authorities is quite stable.

“A series of moments, variants of the color revolutions, do not match what happened,” he said.

The National Security Committee stressed on Monday that the situation in Kazakhstan has stabilized and is under control.

All administrative facilities seized by terrorists in the cities of Almaty, Kyzylorda, Taldykorgan and Taraz were liberated, the statement said.

It was pointed out that the security of important and strategic facilities and ammunition and weapon stockpiles is guaranteed.

For its part, the Interior Ministry reported that as of Monday 7,939 people linked to the riots of recent days were arrested in Kazakhstan, the Kazinform news agency reported.
