Operations are resuming a week earlier than planned and as a result of continuous work on the bypass of approximately four kilometers.
“We at OCP Ecuador have spared no resources to resume the service. This effort made by our staff and contractor is a sign of the commitment we have with the country to reactivate the national production of crude oil”, said the Operations Manager of OCP Ecuador, Roberto Grijalva.
In announcing the date of resumption of oil pumping, Grijalba said that the work has been arduous and complicated by adverse weather conditions and the advance of erosion.
OCP Ecuador stopped pumping crude oil on last December 8th and drained the pipeline until it was emptied as preventive measures, while maintaining 24-hour on-site monitoring and defined 28 lines for observation along the edge of the erosion.
According to the timetable, the activities to begin receiving crude oil at the Amazonas Station in Lago Agrio will begin 24 hours after the pumping restarts, which will allow the oil fields to resume work and the gradual recovery of the production.
The company announced that it expects to carry out the first export of Napo crude on January 3rd, through the OCP Maritime Terminal in the province of Esmeraldas.
