An increasingly number of countries are using it as independent vaccine and universal booster, even to counteract the Omicron variant of Covid-19, thus its demand is on the rise, the RDIF highlighted.
Sputnik Light has already been registered in over 20 countries. Its composition is based on the serotype 26 of the human adenovirus, the first component of Sputnik V.
According to a study published by the Gamaleya National Epidemiology and Microbiology Research Center, the vaccine increases significantly the neutralizing action against the Omicron variant when used as a booster.
The data indicated that the efficacy of Sputnik V when applied along with Sputnik Light as booster against Omicron infection could be above 80%.
