Specialist in the backstroke style, 17-year-old Becalli broke national marks established by Ana María González in 1999 and in the 25-meter pool she registered a time of 1: 01.25 in the 100 and 2: 12.01 minutes in the 200, to stand out among the quartet of West Indian exponents attending the fair.
This Saturday, the Cuban lowered by more than a minute the previous mark of 200 (2: 13.84) of González that dated from April 4, 1999 in Hong Kong, valid to end in seat 16 as the best in Latin America.
Young Becalli made her debut last Thursday in Abu Dhabi with a time of 1: 01.25 in the 100 to overcome in almost one second the third oldest record in a short pool of the Cuban undines.
