The president stressed that collaborative relations will allow a more effective interaction between the Caribbean island and the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (UEE), “with whom we are united by traditional and historical ties of friendship,” he said according to a report.
The authorities praised the results of the II Joint Session for Collaboration between the EEC and Cuba, which recently signed an action plan for cooperation in the 2021-2025 period in areas such as the commercial, banking-financial economy, health, pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology and tourism.
Díaz-Canel reiterated his country’s commitment to honor the status granted as an observer state of the UEE and thanked the support provided by the Commission to guarantee the participation of the Caribbean nation in the high-level meetings of that body.
Gláziev expressed his interest in sharing experiences with Cuban counterparts and creating inter-company ties that allow for a more dynamic exchange in the different sectors of mutual interest.
The minister makes a working visit to Havana, as part of which he held meetings with the heads of Tourism, Public Health, Foreign Relations, and Economy and Planning.
