Cuba and UNESCO ratify in Paris the will to strengthen ties

Paris, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, received here today Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, in a meeting in which they reiterated the will of the parties to further strengthen relations.

The high officials reviewed the cooperation projects between the Island and UNESCO. In the meeting, permanent representative of Cuba to the multilateral entity, Yahima Esquivel, also participated.

In a statement, the diplomat of the Caribbean nation described the exchange as cordial and positive.

On November 12, in the context of the commemoration of UNESCO’s 75th anniversary, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recognized the noble mission of the organization and its values, and said the world needs its moral and intellectual authority.

Malmierca fulfills an intense work agenda this week in France, which included the holding yesterday of the VI bilateral Economic and Trade Commission as well as the Meeting of the Strategic Orientation Committee, meetings that left new instruments for cooperation for more than 30 million euros.
