Hartati met with government officials in central Villa Clara province and the city of Santa Clara.

The purpose of the meeting is to open a possibility of beneficial businesses between twin cities from the two countries, according to local authorities.

“Meeting as a people and expanding relations between Indonesia and Cuba is the main reason for our visit, which seeks an exchange between sectors such as tourism, agriculture, education and others,” said the visitor.

She stressed that Indonesia has always voted in favor of Cuba against the United States blockade and that scientists from her country are preparing to produce the Covid-19 vaccines developed and produced by Cuba.

She pointed out that in Cuba, two schools bear the name of Indonesia in the provinces of Matanzas and Artemisa and that in Camagüey there is a musical group of adolescents who promote the music from her country.

Starting today, the Indonesian delegation will tour Villa Clara, where it will visit the Enrique Nuñez polygraph and the factory of electrical and mechanical bicycles.

On Tuesday, they visit economic sites, such as the Desembarco del Granma textile company and the Luis Augusto Turcios Lima polyethylene sack producing industry.
