Cuban deputy foreign minister meets with ALBA-TCP executive secretary

Havana, Dec 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal met on Monday with ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary Sacha Llorente to review the results and projections of the regional bloc.

The deputy foreign minister wrote on her official Twitter account that it was an excellent occasion to review current affairs on the eve of the 20th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

“Cuba in integration, consultation and cooperation with sister nations,” Vidal tweeted.

On Monday, the ALBA-TCP executive secretary ratified the regional bloc as a mechanism to strengthening Latin American unity.

During a press conference in this capital, he pointed out that there are challenges that no country can face alone, hence the importance of integration.

On Tuesday, the 20th Summit will meet to study the creation of joint strategies to face the post-pandemic stage.

“It will be a good opportunity to jointly evaluate the regional scenario, the actions to guarantee peace and stability, as well as political agreements to prevent interference in our internal affairs,” Vidal said in recent statements.

The ALBA-TCP is made up of ten Latin American and Caribbean countries and was founded in Havana on December 14, 2004, by Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.
