Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia on Friday posted on Twitter “On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, we congratulate Nicaraguan government and people for their sovereign decision to re-establish diplomatic relations with China.”
Recently, China and Nicaragua signed a joint statement in Tiajin on the resumption of diplomatic relations between both nations, following Nicaragua’s ties with Taiwan were broken as a sign of respect for the ¨One-China¨ policy.
In this regard, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed that reaching such an agreement his country has a new friend in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as a great partner for the Belt and Road Initiative and in building a community with shared future for humanity.
In recent decades, China has strengthens its relations with several other nations in the Americas and has also approached with many of the Latin American governments, thus strengthening cooperation and mutual aid relations.
