At the Foreign Ministry’s headquarter in Managua, Moncada expressed his country’s will to continue strengthening the historic, solidarity and brotherhood ties, and authorized the Cuban representative to do his work as head of the diplomatic mission.

“We want to welcome you and convey a cordial greeting from President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo. You have all the support, cooperation, friendship and fraternity in the successful exercise of your commitment to the sister Republic of Cuba,” Moncada said.

During this step prior to the presentation of the credentials to the top leader of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), Mayo described this responsibility as an honor and great personal pride, and conveyed a message of affection and appreciation from Cuban authorities.

The diplomat has held senior positions in Cuban embassies in Argentina and Venezuela. He served as director of the Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Department and, at the time of his appointment, was the director of South America Department at the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
