The explosives were discovered and defused by bomb squads just before Erdogan took the stage in the city of Siirt, in the South East of the country.

The car belonged to an officer from the Nusaybin district, in the southeastern province of Mardin, where President Erdogan headed as part of a visit program to various regions of the country.
