The armed men surrendered voluntarily to the Army in the framework of an initiative launched in this governorate on November 14, including the granting of amnesty to all fugitive and irregular soldiers who put down their weapons, accordingto officials overseeing the process, who were quoted by local media.
A similar process was implemented in August, September and October in Daraa, in southern Syria, where almost 8,000 people, including armed men, fugitives and deserters, were pardoned.
The Syrian Army is implementing policies based on reconciliation to restore normal life without resorting to military operations that could cause material losses and casualties.
According to Minister of Municipal Administration Hussein Makhlouf, the legal status of more than 30,000 fugitives in Daraa, Deir Ezzor, Hasakeh and Quneitra provinces has been so far normalized.
