Cited by local newspapers, Russian ambassador in Hanoi, Gennady Bezdetko, commented that the dignitary’s stay in his country, from November 29 to December 2, is one of the most relevant events on the bilateral agenda this year.
Nhan Dan newspaper, official organ of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and VNA, the national news agency, gave extensive summaries of Xuan Phuc’s visit and highlighted the results of his talks with President Vladimir Putin and other top Russian leaders.
In a joint statement, the parties reaffirmed their determination to strengthen the strategic partnership with a projection until 2030.
One of the most relevant points was the common interest in multiplying by 15 bilateral trade by that year and tripling investments of one country in the other.
Vietnam and Russia also agreed to continue high-level political dialogues and strengthen cooperation in defense, security and military technology, on the basis of international law and for the good and peace of the region and the world.
They also called for the construction of a more equitable and democratic system of international relations, that is aligned with international law and the Charter of the United Nations (UN).
They also reaffirmed their support for multi-lateralism and the role of the UN as guarantor of peace, security and sustainable development; and rejected the use of force or threats in the settlement of disputes between States.
