The Infantrymen will conduct fire at different targets using small arms and anti-tank systems, as well as practice defeating obstacles on rugged and coastal terrain.

The maneuvers take place at times of tension between Russia and its neighboring countries, including Ukraine, which Moscow accuses of lending their territories for a dangerous approach of the infrastructure of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to its borders.

On February 2nd, the Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, considered the statement of the Ukrainian president, Vladimir Zelensky, on his intention to recover the territory of Crimea a direct threat to Russia.

The Ukrainian president said on Wednesday, before the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) that recovering Crimea should be the main objective and philosophy of Ukraine.

“This formulation means that the Kiev regime intends to use all available opportunities, including the military, to invade (Crimea). This is how we tend to perceive it,” the Russian official denounced.
