The information center stressed that the figure accounts for an annual growth rate of 900 percent, marking the highest across the world.
The volume of exports from the Damietta liquefaction plant, located in northern Egypt, amounted to 1.6 million tons since its reopening in February this year, the press release noted.
India came as Egypt’s major LNG importer with 430,000 tons, followed by Pakistan with 380,000 tons, it stated.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla said two months ago that Egypt will achieve self-sufficiency in oil products by 2023, following multi-billion-dollar investments in the sector.
