During the meeting, the Russian president said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, trade between the two nations increased by over 15% during 2020 and was higher than 16% in the first nine months of this year.

Putin recalled that Russia and Vietnam celebrated the anniversary of the declaration of strategic partnership in 2021, but relations between the two nations, he said, are much deeper than these decades lived within the framework of this memorandum.

The Russian head of state warned about relevant set of important agreements in various fields, including in economy and humanitarian cooperation, which will be approved by the parties.

He also conveyed his greetings to the Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, with whom he stressed he shared similar positions on international issues.

Moscow and Hanoi work together within the framework of the UN and other regional organizations. “Vietnam remains our trustworthy, loyal friend and strategic partner,” he stressed.
