In a visit to the southern Andean region of Cusco, Boluarte, who is also Minister of Social Welfare, pointed at parties that did not accept the electoral victory this year Castillo as authors of the coup attempt.
“This is a coup d’état to a democratic government elected by the Peruvian people”, who have said they want Pedro Castillo as president for five years, she stresed.
She added that constitutionally, democratically people’s will must be respected and expressed his confidence that the vacancy motion will not be approved.
According to Boluarte, the Government “will also have to convey clear and timely messages in order to be able to govern the country in democracy and order”, and urged it to improve its communication work.
Regarding a march organized by the right to press for Castillo’s removal, Boluarte pointed out that the wealthy head of the extreme right-wing Renovación Popular (Popular Renewal) party, Rafael López Aliaga, is paying for the transportation of people from the provinces to Lima in buses.
For his part, the Minister of Justice, Anibal Torres, said that renowned families who for many years shared public offices, works and services, have not overcome the trauma of losing their corrupt power.
