Speaking to reporters, the official said that the event, to be held online in December 9 and 10, is part of Washington’s plan to establish the concept of an order based on its own rules.

She added that the initiative becomes an element of the US strategy to undermine the role of the United Nations and create coalitions of like-minded people within the framework of universal platforms, mainly those of the Group of Seven and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

According to Zakharova, the White House is forming “a club of interests” to confront countries that maintain their strategic independence from the West and have a sovereign vision of a just world order, especially Russia and China.

The Russian Foreign Ministry official warned that the West will continue to interfere in the internal affairs of independent and sovereign States under the pretexts of fighting corruption, protecting human rights and guaranteeing democratic values.

She denounced the fact that the United States claims the right to determine which country is worthy of being considered democratic and which is not.

“It seems, of course, cynical. I would say it looks just pathetic, in the context of obvious problems with the state of democracy and human rights in the United States itself and in the West in general,” she stressed.
