Chinese President Xi Jinping made the announcement at a virtual summit commemorating the 30th anniversary of relations between the two sides.

According to the president, this is a new milestone in the history of the relations and will lead to strengthening them through greater communication and coordination.

However, he advocated for working together to ensure peace and good neighbor in the region, after stressing Beijing’s opposition to hegemony, political power and harassment of the great powers over developing nations.

Xi indicated that his Government wishes to sign soon the treaty to declare Southeast Asia a nuclear weapon-free zone, insisted on the need to defend multilateralism and solve regional challenges and problems among themselves.
