Judicial sources consulted by the Franceinfo channel specified that the arrests took place yesterday in the southwestern towns of Montauban and Gironde, as part of an investigation carried out by the Anti-terrorist Prosecutor’s Office.

Both individuals are charged with calling out to carry out violent actions with racist and anti-Semitic purposes, through the encrypted messaging application of the Telegram platform.

According to people aware of the case, the detainees belong to the “accelerationist” trend, considered the most radical of white supremacism, by pushing for a race war.

During the arrest, police seized weapons and ammunition and the suspects could face charges of criminal terrorist association and provocation of violent acts via the Internet.
