EU agrees to scale up military cooperation with the United States

Brussels, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) The European Union (EU) on Tuesday passed a new agreement to scale up military cooperation with the United States, as reported by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

During an EU´s Council of Defense Ministers meeting, Mr. Borrell claimed the EU spoke out in favor of a greater US involvement in the European Defense Agency projects.

Such new talks, according to analysts, will be held in compliance with the commitment and agreement reached between both parties at a summit held in June, as an administrative agreement was reached aimed at tightening coordination on military issues.

Mr. Borrell released a draft defense strategy on Wednesday 10 set down on a report entitled “Europe is in danger and faces new threats”, which established EU´s major security objectives.
