In October national authorities promised a reward of four million gourdes (about 40,000 dollars) to anyone who provided information on the whereabouts of the businessman, who according to human rights organizations was escorted to the airport by police officers shortly after the assassination.

After the raid on his place, the Police seized firearms, ammunition and some 15 passports to his name and two other individuals’.

At least 44 people are being detained, including 18 Colombians and 12 policemen, in addition to those responsible for the presidential security as well as doctor Emmanuel Sanon, the alleged mastermind.
