Figuereido praised the example of resistance and defense of Cuba’s sovereignty for more than 60 years, during an act held at the Popular University of Porto in solidarity with the countries of Latin America.
Moara Crivelente, representative of the Brazilian Peace Council, rejected for her part the vote made by the Brazilian government in the United Nations General Assembly against the resolution that once again rejected the blockade of Cuba.
The blockade must be eliminated, said Crivelente, who also reiterated the solidarity of the Brazilian people with the Cubans.
Jassellys Morales, second secretary of the Cuban embassy in Portugal, denounced the support of the US government for internal and external subversion with the aim of destroying the Cuban Revolution.
Morales also highlighted the tightening of the blockade, the fact that the 243 measures enacted by the Trump administration against Cuba are still in place, and the unconstitutionality of the demonstrations that the counterrevolution intends to carry out in Cuba on November 15th.
Morales also stressed the significant results obtained by Cuba in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, with three vaccines already approved for emergency use and two vaccine candidates, and noted the importance of vaccinating the Cuban population and reopening of the country as a tourist destination this Monday.
