Comunidad, Estados, Independientes, Covid-19
Moscow, Nov 12 (Prensa Latina) The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)'s heads of Government are meeting on friday through videoconference to analyze the impact of Covid-19 and the recovery of their economies.

The meeting was scheduled to be held in person in the city of Bishkek, but due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in several CIS countries, it was decided to hold it virtually, the Kyrgyz cabinet’s press service informed.

The event focuses on issues such as the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and the resilience measures implemented by the countries to cope with it, stated the Russian executive, which will be represented by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In addition, it is expected to consider the development of the CIS free trade zone (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), rail transportation and innovative cooperation.

As a result of the meeting, measures related to the implementation of the plan to improve the quality of life of war veterans involved in local conflicts and their families, as well as the search for military personnel missing during the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989), are also expected to be approved.

The CIS heads of Government must ratify a series of international treaties, among them an agreement on cooperation in the field of copyright and related rights on information and telecommunications networks.
