At a joint press conference after the official talks with the Venezuelan delegation Lavrov stressed that Moscow and Caracas have great plans to deepen bilateral relations.
He highlighted this year’s celebration of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement, which he considered the solid foundation that strengthened the ties between the two nations.
“During these 25 years we have done a lot, above all we have shown that our ties are stable and based on mutual trust and mutual benefit,” Lavrov noted.
The host foreign minister drew attention to the results of the last meeting of the Russia-Venezuela High-Level Intergovernmental Commission, held last month, and warned about the upcoming implementation of new cooperation projects.
He also referred to the supply of vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to the South American country and the arrangements taking place to organize the production of these drugs on Venezuelan territory.
