According to UN portal, the initiative led by the Ministry of Education (MINED) benefits families and children who cannot access institutions due to limited coverage.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cuba launched separate alternatives such as sharing messages and teaching aids on a WhatsApp platform group.
In this space, over 200 promoters are being weekly trained in coordination with MINED and supported by the UN Fund for Children (UNICEF) in Cuba.
According to the report, this application allowed to carry out workshops on breastfeeding, complementary feeding, responsible parenting, respectful parenting, inclusive education, responsible use of technologies in early childhood, and prevention of Covid-19 in children.
Similarly, there was information on the need to promote socio-emotional attention in the face of the pandemic scenario, in order to diagnose and act on possible sequelae in children’s learning and school performance.
