This latest action would give legal course to the return of undocumented migrants without even taking into account their asylum requests, an action condemned by the international community and human rights organizations.

Polish Deputy Minister of Defense Marcin Ociepa defended the first idea, which would cost around 350 million euros to implement.

Meanwhile, a law approved by President Andrzej Duda validates the construction of a three-meter-tall wall and an electronic surveillance system in the border area with Belarus, whose function would be “to send a message to the world that the Polish border is safe,” according to Ociepa.

The Duda government has been accused, including by the European Union, of illegally expelling migrants, while a report by the national channel TVN24 showed how members of the Border Guard intercepted a group of undocumented migrants.
