University of Camagüey in Cuba resumes face-to-face activities

Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) The students of the University of Camagüey (UC) in the central part of the country resume today its presential activities following new health protocols.

For this institution, the first founded by the Cuban Revolution in 1967, the priority will be to consolidate some subjects, especially for first-year students, including foreigners from countries such as Haiti and Angola.

According to the official website of the university, “from November 1 to 6, professors will mainly teach subjects that need consolidation and no student will be left behind from the academic point of view”.

Likewise, the institution is making adjustments for transportation and scholarship conditions for students from the provinces of Las Tunas, Guantanamo, Granma, Ciego de Avila and Santiago de Cuba.

The institution, which served as a crucial support for the fight against Covid-19 in this Cuban region, and whose teaching staff and students were fundamental pieces in the fight against the pandemic, now opens its doors with most of its professionals with the complete vaccination plan against SARS-COV-2.

Towards achieving the category of Excellence, the University of Camagüey supports international projects where the collaboration with the Hebei Institute of Artificial Intelligence in China stands out, as well as the VLIR program with the University of Gent in Belgium.
